Camera Invention, the First camera was designed in 1685 by Johann Zahn. But 1814 was the year when Joseph Nicephore Niepce clicked the first photograph. Thousands of years ago in 1021, an Iraqi scientist, Ibn- al- Haytham mentioned this kind of device in his book “Book Of Optics”. One of the drawbacks of earlier cameras was that they were huge and were not capable of saving images. The first practical photography was invented in 1829 by Louis Daguerre but it took almost 10 years to produce a daguerreotype, the effective method which was named after him. All this was done in Niepce’s partnership. There was a booklet in which the process of obtaining a picture on a silver-coated copper sheet was mentioned.
Louis and Niepce’s son sold the rights to the process to the French government. And after that, there were a number of daguerreotype studios working.
Then with the passage of time, many people worked on improving this technology. Henry Fox Talbot invented a calotype in 1841. Calotype is the process of getting a number of positives from a single negative. Then in 1856, Hamilton-Smith got a patent for tintypes.

In 1851, Frederick Scoff Archer developed the wet plate negatives. It was followed by the invention of dry plate negatives in 1879. In 1889, a scientist named George Eastman invented the flexible film roll. In the year 1940, color photography at the commercial level started. This was the beginning of the revolution…at that time comfortable photography with a handy camera started.
