Departure and Arrival
Recently, I embarked on a one-day tour to Mushkpuri Top with a private tour company. The journey commenced on the night of December 9th, a Saturday. Traveling through the GT road, we reached Dunga Gali at 7 am the next morning, greeted by the breathtaking beauty and cold weather.
Breakfast Delight
After a night of travel, we indulged in a local breakfast at a charming restaurant in Dunga Gali. The menu included omelets, chana (chickpeas), and parathas. While the omelet and paratha were delightful, the chana fell short in taste. Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable.
Choosing Tracking Over Hiking
Teaming up with a friend, we opted for tracking instead of hiking. The weather was cold, yet the presence of sunlight made for a pleasant experience. Our chosen path was the Pipeline track of Dunga Gali, extending to Ayubia Tunnel and Ayubia National Park. The track, approximately 5-6 km in length, offered stunning views of mountains on either side.
Pipeline Adventure and Ayubia National Park
The pipeline track, constructed between mountains, provided a unique tracking experience. It took us about 3 hours, including laughter, enjoyment, and photo breaks. The track concluded at Ayubia National Park Gate, leading to a beautiful, dark tunnel. Post-tunnel, we indulged in hot chocolate and chocolate shakes, rating them 3/5.
Return Journey and Culinary Pitstops
To catch our 2:00 pm bus back to Dunga Gali, we hired a car, an expensive but time-saving choice. After a quick snack of tasty fries, our return journey began around 3:30 pm. The trip included a stop at Monal for a picturesque but chilly experience, dining on karahi. The dish rated 3/5, and despite the challenging route, the beauty of Islamabad remained captivating.

Final Verdict
While the private tour company received a modest rating of 2/5, the memories created and the scenic beauty encountered made the adventure truly worthwhile. The overall cost amounted to approximately PKR 10,000. Despite some hiccups, the allure of Mushkpuri Top ensures a desire to revisit in the future.
