The Coca-Cola Kick-Off Pakistan’s mega-project includes locally announcing the idea of re-carpeting national roads with plastic waste. Whoever, a One-kilometer road in the Capital Islamabad Capital Territory will be demonstrated as a proof-of-concept.
The International beverages company, Coca-Cola Pakistan & Afghanistan, has partnered with the Capital Development Authority and the National Incubation Center (NIC) to work in the direction of creating a World without Waste.

MOU
The MOU signing ceremony was held in Islamabad between the NIC/Team Up offices on 21st September 2021. The government invited government officials and environmental/ecological specialists to debate and focus on this project, which followed the signing.

This idea provides a breakthrough solution to bring back plastic waste into the productive economy. We also want to focus on building a community around the idea and the innovation itself. For any concept to be applied and adopted, the people must first believe in it, and it needs to make social and commercial sense.
Also, TeamUp and NIC represent Zouhair Khaliq and Pervez Abbasi added, “When Coca-Cola came to us with the willingness to be part of the solution, we were keen to lead this because most of the startups and projects here are guided by the Sustainable Development Goals.”

Impact on the Environment
Furthermore, recycled plastic has a more considerable positive impact on the environment, also road re-carpeting technology is considered 51% stronger.
Coca-Cola Pakistan is launching this project, 8 tons of recycled plastic used for a one-kilometer road, This innovative technology is researched and applicable in Pakistan. This technology is introduced for the first time in Pakistan through a public-private partnership.
Amer Ali Ahmed, the Chairman of Capital of Development Authority (CDA-Islamabad) contributed partner in making the venture a reality. Amer Ali Ahmed was the chief guest of this program. He said
We believe in a clean and green Pakistan, but we also believe in working with each other to create results expansively.
