Discussing Facebook’s history, it was founded by Mark Zuckerberg. He was a student of Harvard computer science. His friends and classmates Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes helped him in this great victory. They all changed the world of social media.

The idea behind this was how people can rate the pictures of others. How they can express their opinions on different photos? And how photos can move from one place to another?

Hot or Not? The Origin of Facebook

In 2003 Mark wrote software for a website popularly known as Facemash. He used his skills in computer science and copied the identity pictures of the students and entered that data into the website. He used the HARVARD Security network for this purpose. Their students had the option between the two photos of a single student and they could rate their pictures as Hot or Not.

Facemash started on October 28, 2003, and did not work successfully and was closed by Harvard. Zuckerberg had to face many challenges as he was punished with the charge of violation of the Harvard security rules. Many charges were alleged against him. But with time, he was set free and charges were withdrawn from him.

The Facebook: Harvard Student App

On February 4, 2004, Zuckerberg launched the biggest social media network named as FACEBOOK. He took great care and worked according to the guidelines provided by the university. The aim was to make people aware of each other in detail. But a few days later the problems again started when Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra accused him that he had stolen their ideas through this website. Then this matter was settled out of the court.

Mark then invited the students to help him to grow and expand his work.

Eduardo Saverin worked on the business. Dustin Moskovitz was presented as a programmer. Andrew McCollum worked as a photographer for the area. Chris Hughes became the de facto spokesman.

Together they worked on this project.

Then later in that year, a businessman Accel Partners invested $ 12.7 million in the company. The purpose was to develop this site for higher education students so that Facebook would expand to other networks. Cooperate employees can also benefit. In September 2006, Facebook announced that any person who is 13 years old and has a valid email ID can sign up for this site.
