To celebrate Pakistan crossing the 200 million telecom subscriber mark. Mobile manufacturers have donated 2,000 locally assembled smartphones. That will be distributed among female SIM holders across Pakistan, AJK, and GB through a computerized ballot.
In a major milestone for Pakistan’s digital progress. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced crossing 200 million telecom subscribers across the country. Including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). This achievement reflects the nation’s fast-paced digital transformation and the PTA’s efforts to expand inclusive connectivity nationwide.

To mark the occasion. The PTA, in partnership with local mobile manufacturers, will distribute 2,000 locally assembled smartphones to female SIM card holders. These smartphones will be allotted through a computerized balloting system. Ensure fair distribution among eligible women in Pakistan, AJK, and GB.
According to a press release by the PTA. “This milestone includes 150 million broadband users and over 2 million Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) subscribers. Showcasing Pakistan’s rapid growth in digital infrastructure.”
Free Internet Access for Students
As part of the celebration, the PTA has also joined hands with PTCL and private sector companies to provide free Wi-Fi hotspots for a six-month period at selected HEC-recognized universities. The initiative will especially benefit students of women’s universities by enhancing their access to online academic resources.
Free Data and Call Minutes for All Mobile Users
Additionally, all mobile users across Pakistan will receive a one-time offer of 2GB of data and 200 on-net minutes, valid for 24 hours on June 20, 2025. The offer is being rolled out in collaboration with mobile network operators Jazz, Telenor, Ufone, Zong, and SCO. Users can activate the package by dialing *2200# from any network.
The PTA reaffirmed its commitment to bridging the digital divide and empowering citizens through accessible technology and reliable connectivity.
